Queensland records 8,643 new COVID-19 cases

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says 8,643 new COVID-19 cases and nine further deaths have been recorded in the state. "Any loss of life is a tragedy, and there will be families out there grieving today and tonight," Ms Palaszczuk said during a media conference on Thursday.
