‘Gilded Glamour’: Met Gala’s red carpet begins

Fashion’s biggest night, New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Met Gala is back in full swing for 2022. Traditionally held on the first Monday in May, this year’s event has returned to the long-established slot after two years of pandemic disruption. 2022’s theme is ‘In America: An Anthology of Fashion’ – described by Vogue as a “twin affair” to the 2021 theme of ‘In America: A Lexicon of Fashion’. The dress code asked guests to “embody the grandeur – and perhaps the dichotomy – of Gilded Age New York”.
