‘Celebrating’ as a community ‘important’ for mental health

Brain and Mind Centre Co-Director Professor Ian Hickie says “celebrating as a community” is really “important” to mental health but Australians should be aware of going overboard. “Celebrating as a community, getting connected again, doing things together, that’s really important to our mental health, so the social connection bit, great,” Professor Hickie told Sky News Australia. “Getting so intoxicated you fall over, hurt yourself, or are an embarrassment to everyone, not good. “Particularly not good for your brain or your head going forward.”
