Victoria records 1,965 cases and five deaths

Victorian Assistant Treasurer Danny Pearson says the state has recorded 1,965 cases and five deaths overnight. A woman in her 90s, a man in his 70s, a man in his 60s, and two men in their fifties have died of the virus. There are currently 17,199 active cases in Victoria and 578 people are in hospital, with 117 in ICU and 83 on a ventilator. The results came off the back of 73,443 tests on a day when 41,177 vaccines were also administered.
